Rab Fuse Jacket, 13 May 2017
By Bill G
Bought in sale May 2017 (thank GOD!) previous years model. Was hoping for great things as I began the ascent in very light rain. I was disappointed pretty quickly, it seemed to allow some rain thru. A couple of hours in, in light but persistent rain it was pretty much soaked thru. There appears to be next to no water resistance in this coat, it may be ok with no rucksack with fine summery showers with dry spells to dry out in between but not in Welsh rain. Rubbish.

Waterproof? I don't think so, 03 March 2017
By Arnie (Merseyside)
Read some decent reviews before buying this jacket, so thought it would be good like other Rab items I own. I wore it today for the first time ( less than a week after purchase) and I think it's rubbish. Walked from Edale up Kinder Scout, in wet weather. It wasn't really heavy rain , but just persistent. By the time I reached the pub back in Edale I was soaked and cold. I took the jacket off and every other layer was wet through. I checked the inside of the jacket and it was as wet as thever outside.

Absolutely zero breathability, 05 February 2017
By Nick (Glasgow)
Breathability?? What exactly does that mean? My understanding is that it keeps you dry underneath, from the inside.
I bought this jacket 12-18 months ago at full price (gutted).
I first wore it last September doing the first leg of WHW (Milngavie to Drymen), 12 miles approximately. It was a particularly bad day, with constant rain throughout my 4-5 hours walking. The jacket was soaked through. However i put this down to the webbing on my rucksack being soaked and soaking through.
I again wore it this morning for a 7-8 mile walk with a Berghaus day pack on my back. Within 20-30 mins , i.e. 1-2 miles, or so it was again soaked through where the straps come over the shoulders. The weather i would describe as light constant drizzle. I wore a Berghaus base layer (to wick sweat from body) and a fleece underneath. I found myself soaking underneath from my light sweat and with no means of this escaping the jacket. The jacket was absolutely saturated inside and my fleece was soaked. Thankfully my route took in a tunnel where i could stop and strip off. I gave the jacket a good shake, which is good for water on the outside but absolutely useless for water that has formed on the inside.
That is twice i have worn this jacket now and twice that it has failed spectacularly.
Avoid this jacket at all costs. From Rab i expect much, much better. I am now going to have to buy another jacket, rest assured i will not be buying Rab again.
How this jacket has received any positive reviews astounds me.
If possible, and i think it should be, i would have rated this jacket a zero.

Really happy with this Jacket. Breathes like a dream and so well fitting. Really impressed and happy I swapped my previous one (montane Atomic 2) for this!!!

Rab Fuse Jacket, 23 May 2016
By Johnny Bag (Oldham)
Read all the reviews and decided to go with this.
Six weeks after purchasing (an operation prevented immediate use), I dragged myself up Kinder Scout with three friends and the heavens opened at Edale Rocks.
Back at the car park, I stripped off to confirm that I was soaking - the jacket had under-performed spectacularly whilst everone else was dry (wearing Sprayway and Montane). Very disappointed. Luckily, Go Outdoors gave a full refund.
I know there's no such thing as 'waterproof' but for the money, I expected much better. I would not recommend this product. :-(
