Lycra cuffs and hem help give a snug and comfortable fit while helping to seal in heat and keep cold out. In addition there are two pockets in which to hide cold hands and a zipped chest pocket that the whole jacket will pack away into if the sun comes out.

I purchased this after talking about the various insulated jackets with a helpful guy in the bristol store. Its proved to be a fantastic piece of kit. So light yet so warm. I wear it in the mountains and around town. It packs into its own little bag cleverly zipped as a chest pocket. I wore it on the north face of pen y fan twice recently and with only a light fleece underneath this kept me cosy warm all day. Even wearing a rucksack did not seem to shift the permaloft insulation on the shoulders unlike down jackets. I would have liked a slightly higher neckline akin to most softshells, but actually like that its not hooded as this gets in the way if you do not need it and you can add a light head warmer as required. I have sweated hard with this insulator and it keeps warm when damp and dries our very rapidly. I wear it on trips to London and its not a loud mountain jacket that looks out of place around town. Probably the best piece of outdoor gear I have ever had. Rab are superb at what they make and so innovative.
