This is a hard-wearing fleece. It takes a a good bit of punishment.

This is my second TNF Windwall fleece and they are excellent, I have taken it to the limit in terms of weather and environment and it really is second to none.

Yes it's Windproof. (Just.) I use this for work all year round. It's insulating property is not as good as expected. Fine from Spring to Autumn. I like the style and it's definitley not to bulky. After Constant use and regular washing....... 18 months and it's starting to look a bit ragged. Still not bad, I really do wear it everyday. Water repellency is good, long as it's washed in a proofer of some sort. North Face do make some good stuff. This is a simple and relatively inexpensive fleece. It does what it says on the tin.

Windwarmer!, 16 February 2010

This product was purchased as a replacement for a thin Polartec fleece. It was compared with other similar products and I decided that the windwall was a better finish/quality. The low pile velour/fleece finish is luxurious and definitely windpoof. We did not get to test the water repellant characteristics but as a layered item it happily dealt with a snowy February weekend on Snowdon. It is worth stressing however that it must be layered as a thick polartec fleece it is not and not designed to be either. I realise this is not an all rounder and would only remind those lucky buyers of a lack of hood, no map pocket and on the positive side, a design and feel that some would consider a league above the alternatives! Buy with knowledge!
