Comfortable, waterproof, hardwaring and excellent grip.
I use these as an everyday shoe and for trials and unboggy hillwalking.
I will buy these over any other trail/approach shoe!

I have had these shoes for about 7 months, they have been superbly comfortable from day one. However the studs on the sole have worn very badly, I wear them as everyday shoes so they only see pavement and grass. Previously I have worn Salomon Merrell and Karrimor, all have lasted for 2 years plus. Unlike other reviewers I have found them to be waterproof.

I have just started Nordic Walking and was looking for a pair of shoes. Although these were not the ones I had originally wanted on an internet site, the young man in the Colchester store recommended these to me. As a female and a shoe size 8 and a broad foot, hence having to buy men's, I was dissapointed that they only came in Black/Grey, a girly issue I know. Anyway, these shoes have been absolutely fab, I have walked in wet and muddy fields and plenty of deep puddles and have never had one wet foot, I feel like I have on a comfy pair of slippers. So come on North Face, get some colours into these shoes for us big girls out there.

I'm on my second pair of these. The first pair did for 2000 miles of dog walking and retained their comfort throughout. I tried on every pair in the shop when I came to replace the, but nothing could touch the, for comfort so I'm on to my second pair. The first pair had a slight fault in the Gore Tex liner but the second pair seem to be watertight. The laces on both pairs needed replacing After about four months but the replacements from Go Outdoors have proved much more durable. Would I buy another pair? Absolutely - they're the most comfortable shoes you can find and even worth the possibility of manufacturing faults.

I've owned these shoes for almost 3 years now, they're still waterproof and survived through all weather types in many continents ! Still going strong I expect them to last even longer. The grip on these shoes are great in snow and ice and the goretex is still effective without having to treat the shoes with waterproofer or any other chemicals.

A great looking pair of shoes & very comfortable to wear,these are the best shoes I have ever come across I would most certainly reccomend these shoes to anyone looking for a good pair of shoes dont take my word try them I did & am very pleased I did.Thankyou Go Outdoors for these wonderful shoes.

These are terrible shoes. I have had them 18 months and I have come back to this site to look at other shoes as these have completely fallen apart. They are not waterproof at all. 1 hour in light rain and they get soaked, mainly because they have split both along the upper and sole and in the fabric where the toes bend. I advise you to save your money and look elsewhere. One of the worst buys I ever made.

i have owned my hogs for nearly three years and they are on their last legs but remarkably they still keep the water out. I have tried other brands but so far nothing else comes close.

Bought to walk in when grass wet, not worn very much, are the worst spproach shoes l have ever had, both of the shoes leak arounf the botto lace. Other than that hard to keep clean, very good grip, comfortable. I will go back to Merrells as I prefer dry feet.

Excellent shoes, very comfy, grip well and great at keeping your feet dry in wet conditions, bought last year and have run many miles in them with no issues, will definitely buy them again.

Bought these shoes to enable me to walk thro local fields with the dog in any weather, after five months the shoes were leaking so badly that after about one hour my feet were soaking wet.Goout doors sent the shoes back to North face who eventually supplied a replacement pair. After three months these shoes are also leaking badly.Bad news North face, with a supposed retail price of around ninety pounds they are a disgrace. where the other reveiwers are walking I dont know unless its around there living room.I had to give one star rating to post the review but it would be a minus if i could get it to register

Now on my fourth pair, with the first two worn to death!
Superbly comfortable, great, slow-wearing grips on the Vibram soles and, being Gore-Tex, waterproof so dry feet and breathable, too.
Find this version of the Hedgehog to be a little on the small side so best to try on before you buy - I'm wearing a size up to what I took in the previous version and in all other shoes.
Only question when either of my current pairs wears out will be what colour to go for next.

Purchased from Go Outdoors, Clydebank outlet early July 2011. Instant comfort great for walking the dog. Used on the hills over the last few weekends on good tracks. So light and very well padded. A great change from the three seasons boots for the summer months.

I've had these shoes for 3 years now and i absolutely love them. I've given them hard use over that time with plenty of trail running, long distance walking and even a few parachute jumps, and this shoe was excellent for all conditions. (Even falling from a plane!!).
I would highly recomment these shoes as they are very comfortable for all uses and handle all underfoot conditions well giving a confident grip. Only now, after 3 years are they starting to come apart. I am more than happy with the value i got from these shoes and they are high in contention to be my replacement pair.

Good shoes – really excellent grip even in wet conditions. I walk and trail run in these and use them for everyday wear as well. However, 12 months on and the uppers are coming away from the soles quite badly and they are no longer waterproof at all. Very comfortable but the shoe isn't up to the quality of the sole unit.

Super comfy, I wear this for long distant walking across hills and streams or for just everyday use and they are perfect for both.
My only concern is that after a long days walking with my bag on etc my ankles start to ache. perhaps something that could be covered by version with ankle support.
(also as a vegan these shoes are a good choice!)
