Ever so trusty..., 26 February 2010
By Snippet
Yes, there are lighter bottles out there and these are quite bulky by comparison. But: you cannot but love them! I got my first Sigg bottle back in school and I just love the colour and shape. The screwtop is also useful in that it can be clipped to a rucksack or something similar. Also, considering how sturdy these are the weight is not outrageous.
So - maybe not take it for the ultralight multi-day trek, but for day trips it's just nice to have.

I gave up using these a while back. They are costly and bulky and heavy. Prefer cheap evian bottle or platypus bottle which can fold up to nothing. These were a classic but they have had their day. yes you can put hot water in to make a hot water bottle but be prepared as it is too hot to touch
