Really comfie when I tried them in shop. Used them on a couple of hourly walks and feet have ached at the end. Will carry on wearing them to try and break them in, but not as comfy as I thought they would be. A Little disappointed as they cost so much money.

Warm, fully waterproof, good for normal walking but not so comfortable for climbing!, 04 January 2011

Hi, I tried these shoes for my Arctic fieldwork. In the beginning it took me time to adjust with these shoes as they are not so flexible. But after a couple of weeks they were good as they would protect the ankles from any injuries while walking on rocks. But again the sole is very tough and not flexible at all so I had to be extra careful while climbing small rocky hills in the tundra.
They look really good in the begining but like I said, I had to walk much on rocks so the front bit is now full of scratches and doesn't look good any more.
I had to run once for 1hr with these boots on to watch Baluga whales in the Arctic (climbing many small tundra hills). But I got blisters in my leg palms after running and climbing with these boots as the inner sole is also very tough and when it rubs with the leg palm, it generates lots of heat and scratches. So, not a good idea to run on the tundra with these boots on!
I would recommend these boots for normal walk in cold/rainy weather on small hills/plains but not for running/climbing!

I only tried these on in the shop as I had had Scarpa boots before and they had lasted over 10 years. I didnt want brown and i wasnt sure I wanted a flexible sole incase I needed to use crampons.
When i tried them on I was amazed how light they were and yet felt very firm and stable.
I figured I would be better off with a light and comfortable boot for day hikes and if i needed a pair for rougher stuff or iceclimbing then i'd buy a specialst pair later.
I have since done a few hikes in these and always carry compede when I wear new boots until they are broken in. I havnt had a single blister, they are as comfortable as wearing trainers, stabe as an ankle boot and so light that they have actually made a difference to how tired my legs are at the end of a day hike.
I am amazed by these boots and would highly recomend them for day hikes or just walking the dog in the woods!
