Recommended by a friend - will they live up to expectations?, 23 December 2010

Recommended by a friend - and they are everything he said. Warm, light, comfy, smart, well fitting. Only just got them so no snags just yet! Agree that a back pocket would be useful. Walked in -7 today and my legs were delightfully warm.
Delivery was amazing (Christmas time). Only down side was I wanted another 2 pairs for my sons and you'd sold out! Oh! and I would love them in dark blue.

Very pleased with these. Pertex outer is water resistant. Cosy microfleece liner is just warm enough for action in single figure temperatures without overheating. Lightweight and comfortable. 2 zipped side pockets but a back pocket would be a useful addition.

Fantastic all-rounder!, 10 May 2010

After looking for a decent pair of cold weather trekking trousers, I found these trousers. They are incredibly lightweight and therefore perfect for backpacking. The soft inner makes them feel very comfortable and warm.
I wore them on a boat trip in Iceland in sub-zero temperatures and they got covered in buckets of sea water pouring over the sides of the boat. Thankfully they dried in around half an hour, while everybody else was still wet an hour later.
As another reviewer pointed out, they seem to be more delicate than other trousers; I too have some small thread pulls in them after only two months. If you want a more robust outer material, go for some soft shell trousers.
The price was higher than I intended to pay, but am completely satisfied with my purchase.

I bought these trousers to do winter climbing and for ther price they are great value for money! warm with the fleece lining yet breatheable! they are water restant which is good and when they do get a bit wet dry mega fast! the only reason i only give them 3 stars is that the outer material does not take much punishment and hace already got nicks in them! overall good trousers at a good price perfect for beginers !

Tusted name, I have no complaints, 26 January 2010

These strides are lovely and light and breathe excellently. Yet walking in light showery weather and through high braken without gaiters will still keep you nice and dry. the warm thin fleece lining is a real bonus to the durable pertex outer. 2 zip hip pockets and draw cords to the ankles are also good features. One thing I've noticed is the fleece lining tends to poke out at the ankle when you put them on, but is easily adjusted to correct. They come form a trusted name in Rab and I have no complaints after a years use.
