Works for me!, 06 October 2011
By Gigantor (Milton Keynes)
used one of these on Kilimanjaro this year and the performance was superb. The adjustable head and lighting levels made reading in the tent, at night, easy. I used it everyday, in the evenings and the wide angle filter made navigation around the campsite (and guylines!) a doddle. On Summit night my torch shone none stop for 8 hours (forgot to turn it off!) and the batteries are still going strong. I like this headtorch!

Good, but pricey, 31 October 2010
By Jo (Reading)
I got this head torch as a gift a year ago or so.
It gives out a very good beam of useable light, much brighter than many headtorches. deffinitely brightest from the petzl compact range.
Quite bulky, with a large headset and separate bettery box.
I found it to cope very well with beind rained or or even fully immersed for sort periods of time, but the batter box requires drying out afterwards, to prevent corosion.
Since this headtrch runs on 3XAA, i would expect a longer running time than the smaller petzl torches, which run on 3XAAA, with lower capacities, but have not tested this.
At ~£50 it has gone down in price considerably in the last year or so.
However with the new tikka2 range out, the light output is nearely comparable to Tikka XP2, and Tikka plus 2 you might as well opt for the more compact, cheaper models without compromising on light amount.

Petzl Myo Headtorch!, 28 January 2010
By chizinbungay (Rillington)
I bought this headtorch to replace an older headtorch which I had had for a while. Wow what a step forward head torches have taken in the last few years. This torch provides a huge amount of light but is extremely lightweight and comfortable to use. The boost function is very useful for seeing that extra bit further, and the filter which spreads the light or gives a focussed beam is extremely useful both when walking with others and walking alone. A waist battery pack can be purchased so the battery pack is not on the back of your head. The striking thing with this headtorch is the amount of light it provides. The battery indicator is another useful tool, allowing you to be able to change the batteries before they run out, rather than being caught short. A great headtorch and definitely recommended to anyone looking for a great headtorch and is serious about night walking!
