GREAT FOR BEGINNERS LIKE US, 28 September 2013
By belly (wolverhampton)
We purchased this tent based on space, size and price. Having never put up a tent in our lives we decided to practice before our holiday began. Our first attempt took 3 of us 3 hours from start to finish which was a bit pathetic but nevertheless gave the neighbours a real good laugh. The 2nd attempt took 20 minutes as we were more confident and somehow the tent seemed to go up almost by itself. We ventured to Wales and once again the tent was up and useable in no time at all. The weather threw everything at the tent during our stay with absolutely no issues at all. It was sturdy, warm and waterproof. We had purchased a porch which acted as the cooking area and somewhere for the dirty shoes before entering into the main area of the tent. We also had the matching carpet which was lovely....no more walking on a cold, noisy groundsheet. All in all my first camping trip was a success mainly due to the design of the tent and the ease of pitching it up (after a practice run). I would recommend this tent to all campers, novice and experts alike, as it is so versatile and well made.
Get a porch and carpet for the finishing touches and you are ready to go.
Great space but lets in water, 16 August 2013
By Becky (North West)
This tent has great space and with the addition of the porch gave us ample room for sleeping, relaxing and eating.
The tent went up without problem on a rather windy hill in Wales.
On the second night of our trip the heavens opened and it rained constantly for 24 hours.
We were initially impressed with the way in which the tent appeared dry, however we then noticed the pooling of water under each of the bedroom compartments.
Water seemed to be entering through the fabric which was used to pin the tent to the ground externally and then attach the bedrooms on the inside.
Hence to say a rather difficult night ensued as we were unable to sleep with the bedroom compartments attached.
On the plus side the lady at Go Outdoors in Wigan was extremely helpful and we had no problems in returning the tent.
Fingers crossed the outwell we have now purchased lives up to its expectations.

I posted my first review of this tent three years ago to the week. I was impressed then and I haven’t changed my mind since. In fact, if I could review more than five stars, I would.
In three years this tent has stood up to howling gales, thunderstorms, downpours akin to monsoons and baking hot sun. It’s been erected in horrendous weather and taken down in horrendous weather. It’s been taken home wet and spent a week damp in its bag. It’s then been aired and put back in its bag.
Has it snapped a pole, has it leaked, has anything ripped or in fact has anything at all gone wrong? Well, in a word, no. In three years use, absolutely nothing at all has gone wrong with this tent. To use a Hovis analogy, it’s as good today as it’s always been.
In use, we can have it up and pegged in 30 minutes. One bedroom compartment erected and the remainder of the tent is an oasis of space. We have living space in the middle and kitchen area where the second bedroom compartment would be. It’s a home from home and a tent we know will be there whatever the weather.
Can there be a better recommendation?

Bought this tent to go camping with my partner and two teenagers. The tent was great, and even on the last day when the wind was around 40mph, it stayed up pretty well until the time came to take it down, only three poles snapped which given the price I reckon was not bad. I have had previous 'high quality' tents which have had the same result although this certainly gave of its best and also plenty of room both in height and surrounds. We also bought the porch which we found the instructions to be pretty rubbish.
Broke second time we used it, 05 August 2013

Bought this from Go Outdoors Swindon last year. We used it once for Cornbury festival and then once again in Cornwall. Putting it up in Cornwall the pole splintered (dry non windy day) and we had to buy duck tape to bind it together. Resulted in bit of a heated stressed tent putting up!
It's a good sized tent and with the porch has a good layout. But it did leak. Heavy rain and our boys bedroom got wet even with the purchased additional footprint, so we left a day early. It may have been the way we put the outer bits down, but we are an average family on that front. We're going again in a weeks time and trying to get a replacement pole. Every single replacement pole of that higear size (11.5mm) is out of stock in Swindon and the staff are clueless as to when they'll have any. Every other tent pole size is in stock so I wonder if it's a bit of flaw of these tents as they rely a lot on the round hoops to hold them up.
I would give it a higher review but for the staff's inability to help with a spare pole and the fact it broke on the second use. I would suggest checking the spare pole sections for this tent and buying a couple with the tent.
It's a pity as it is a good size and design for the money otherwise.
Dream Tent, 04 August 2013

As ex owners of the High Gear Sahara 6 tent we decided we wanted to down size a little but still leave ourselves with enough room for a couple with two dogs.
After learning our lesson from the Sahara 6 which leaked like a colander we did our research this time and opted for the Zenobia 6.
We managed to purchase this tent whilst it was on sale along with the footprint and porch.
We have just spent our first week away in this tent. It took only 30 minutes for two of us to erect. We went in the July 2013 heatwave which meant we also experienced the fierce thunder storms the country had at night. I must admit I was a bit dubious after our last experience in the Sahara 6 and its puddles of water after any rain fall but I needn't of worried as the Zenobia stood up to all the thunderstorms that was thrown at it.
There is far more vents in this tent which probably helps a great deal, bedrooms are nice and spacious which have a mesh door as well as a full screen door.
We also found the two doors on the tent are far better .
We did have a fair bit of wind during the night of the storms but the tent stood up to them well.
I can highly recommend getting the porch it makes so much more room and is handy to use as the kitchen stopping condensation in the main tent.
As experienced campers I cannot recommend this tent enough... We Love It!!!
Awful tent - very poor quality, 03 August 2013
Bought this tent last year but didn't use it til this year due to the bad weather. The first time we used it we had to put it up in slightly breezy conditions and three sections of the poles splintered. Thought it was down to the wind, but used it again on a three stop trip and, despite no wind this time, a section of pole snapped each time we put it up, which also resulted in a seam tearing due to the lop-sided shape it had assumed Are gradually replacing the original poles with Vango spare sections which will hopefully be better quality.
Other negtives are that its not very easy to erect - poles are a very tight fit; and its not entirely waterproof (had puddles under the bedrooms after heavy rain).
On the plus side, it is very big and is now going for a lot less then we paid for it.
My advice would be to pay a bit more and get something that will last. Or if you do go for this one, get some spare poles and take a hacksaw with you so you can fix them as they break and avoid any rips.

bought this tent 3 years ago used several times within the first year but never used last year due to weather tooki , we have just aired the tent for the first time this year and still in great condition, amazing size plenty of living area, also purchased the porch carpet and ground sheet all adding extra space and comfort. Great tent...!, 07 July 2013

Ok, i'll admit i'm a little bit premature with the review as i've only been camping in it twice in the past 10 days i've had it, but it really is a joy to have.
Easy to erect and dis-assemble and back in bag first time, both times.
First weekend up and the winds were quite strong, but we all slept well. Tent felt strong and we had now worries. Our confidence was built.
Second trip and it was el scorchio (the weekend Andy Murray became Wimbledon champion).......!
Having the 2 doors (1 at either side) worked out great, as it helped keep the tent cooler. Keeping the mesh panels closed on the external and internal door closed, ensured no bugs made home in our home. The vents on both bedrooms help keep us cool while sleeping.
We also purchased the porch which adds another 3rd of its current size to this spacious tent. Everything together, it HUGE...!
With this huge size comes its weight. If your planning on pitching quite a distance from your car, then you best have use of a wheelbarrow or at least a strong arm to carry it all (including all you provisions etc).
Overall............. Yes i am happy with this purchase. It does feel and look like a good quality tent. Especially as i bought in the sale. Happy days.
By col (colchester)
its 7' + in the centre (maybe more) which means it feels spacious and the side sleeping areas are pretty ample-easily enough for 2 and i am sure 3 would be very comfortable. It was pretty easy to put up- there is nothing complicated here and packing back into the casing.....worked! pleasantly surprised at that one as the tent is HUGE when assembled and we were convinced it wouldnt go back! We are newbies with tenting but this has got me inspired and i cannot wait to go camping. We havent tested it in rain yet though so lets see.........
Could be good with a few mod's., 03 July 2013

Only tried it once so far for 2 days in the Lakes. The main tent was essentially up in about 25 mins. Ground was a bit stony at 4" depth, so delayed pegging out accurately. 2and a half hours after messing about with this. It seems though that the poles are a bit too long, with the effect that the ground sheet is 3-4" off the ground on one side and the side tapes are up at an angle instead of flat, making it impossible to extend the poles away from the tent properly and preventing proper deployment of the side gaiters. Inside tent is thus a bit in the air at one side so you'd have to be careful not to put too much weight into the corners. Not worth putting it up for one night unless their are several of you. Masses of space inside though. Similar problem with the porch. I reckon it shouldn't take much work to shorten the poles, but that'll invalidate the guarantee. The display model in the shop at Stockton shows the same problem. All folded up and went back in the bag first time.
most practicle tent we've ever owned!, 02 July 2013

Great tent. My mother, 2 terriors and i have just had a week at Shell island (Gwynedd coast) in our Zenobia 6.
I bought it as an upgrade to our previous tent which did not have a sown in groundsheet. The tent was very easy to put up, and down and we were very happy with the living space. I did not use all the wire pegs because the ground conditions meant i needed stronger pegs which I always carry.
We loved the pockets in the living area. The doors and windows are great.
The only problem we had was the raised lip on the base of the door made it imposible to brush sand etc straight out the door. You cant always get it all out with a dust pan and bush. Mum also raised a point that it would be a trip hazzard for young children. It would iMO be handy to have a zip or valcro fastening so that you could lower the lip down on one side when needed.

Posted my first review of this tent back in 2010. Impressed then and, into our third year with it, my opinion is the same. Cracking tent. It's withstood everything the British weather can chuck at it, including gale force winds and torrential rain and it has never let us down. Not a leak, not a tear. No concerns at all. It's precisely what we wanted and continues to deliver.

Very successful, 29 May 2013
It's been 20 years since I've been camping, but my daughter wanted to go this year.....I didn't want to buy a really expensive tent in case the trip was one that would not be repeated very often! I bought this tent on a special discount weekend and decided to get the carpet and footprint as well.....however, my husband persuaded me to put the porch back. This was a major mistake......the rain tipped down for 2 out of 3 days (with very high winds) and the tent was fantastic-but it would have been even better with the porch! It took us about an hour to put it up, it was very easy. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with our purchase-which is just as well as my daughter wants to go again.....hopefully they still have porches available.
Leaked on first trip, 15 May 2013
By Norm (Swindon)
First use of this was a family trip for a long weekend. The first night it rained, but the tent stayed nice and dry. The next day it was quite windy and rained again - this time the tent leaked - big pools of water under each bedroom area. Same again on the 2nd night.
We took it back to store who then sent it away for testing. Some weeks later - no response so store agreed to replace it.
Hopefully the new one will not suffer the same fault as the first - fingers crossed.

Recently purchased this tent and am very pleased with it. Very easy to put up and plenty of room inside.
I did find it rather difficult to get back in the bag but this will come with more practice I am sure.
Recommended. I was lucky enough to get this for less during the 15% off weekend.
