Extremely Versatile, 28 October 2011

Love the easy adjustability of this pole. Very handy when walking up (where a shorter pole is needed) and down (much longer pole needed) the steep inclines along the River Taff. Durable and hard wearing. Fantastic value for money

these are great for helping you get up those hills/mountains, ok these arent the best on the market and feel quite cheap when extending them but for this price cant go wrong, I'd reccommend for beginners only really

Used these for 20 days backpacking on Pennine Way. They did the job well of providing balance and support with a full backpack. No failure or damage to the poles.

After walking for a day with these, one of them broke, and the next the next day. They were good until then, and they ARE cheap, but I would rate them in the single use disposable category.

BRILLIANT BUY, 02 July 2011
By POODLEPOWER (STAFFORDSHIRE)
Purchased two of these for a trek up Snowdon and they didn't let me down. Tend to put a lot of weight on them due to knee problems and they held their ground. A little tricky to put back together though if you accidently pull them apart.

Took a pair of these on a 20 mile midnight walk. Got to say they performed perfectly. I would also say they where definately the most popular pole amongst fellow walkers.
They do the job just as well as the more pricey models.

Bought this pole to use on a recent long day walk over rough ground.
I'd never used a pole before and so have nothing to compare this too, however I was very impressed with it for the price. There was very little give and it gave another option as I hopped between stones.
They aren't always the easiest to collapse/expand but I'm sure there is a knack, which I haven't got yet.
Will definitely use again on future walks.

They come at a bargain price and that is their plus point. I keep a couple around to loan out to friends.
Unfortunately already had two break as the top locking section, where the shock absorption spring is located, is dodgy. At the price this is not much of an issue, but know what you are buying at the bottom end of the market.

Well, after walking without them a few times up and down some Grahams in the South of Scotland I had seen some videos of guys using walking poles on 8000 meter peaks in the Himalayas etc. I thought that they obviously must make a difference, and boy do they ! The poles are great, the pack down to a good size and are easy to open and close (but can be fiddly without grippy gloves) They dont weigh too much either. The hand strap is ideal, not over fancy and can be adjusted (I dont bother as I grip the strap while holding the handle anyway) They really allow you to push on hard for the summit if you need to and provide a great balance point if your like me and are always looking back at the view and to see how far yu have came. For the down hill I dont like them so much but they are still great for the knees. They have took a fair old beating, I have dropped them down scrambly patches on An Stuc when I was too lazy to strap them to my pack lol and they still dont have a dent or bend in them. They are also very good for river crossings, used them after wild camping when It would have been a long journey up or downstream to find a bridge but the poles saw both me and my mate across. I have held Leki poles and cannot honestly find much difference between either of the poles, except the price tag obvcourse. The poles only ever slide out of place when you bang them down hard onto very tough ground but generally they stay in place very well. I dont even use the rubber tip no matter where I am walking and just keep the basket permanently attached and the metal tip is yet to crack or split. Overall they have helped me out a bunch and made long days with five Munro's bareable. I reckon without them my legs would have been much more sore and my knees would have taken much more of a pounding. Only niggle would be that after a few months the measure on the middle sections wears of and makes it hard to adjust the poles to the same length quickly, but its only a small problem. For a pair at £10, its an absolute bargain, buy them, you wont regret it :)

Two for under £10 is a real bargain! I have used them in Black Mountains (Wales) on both easy going footways and rocky paths, sandy beaches and up and down shingly beaches. No problems with adjustment. Suited me on all ocassions.

I bought three of these for myself and two children. We are occassional walkers with various bad knees, wobbly ankles and aching backs between us! The walks we have had since having then have given us the extra confidence and support we need. However, by far the best thing about these poles is that I feel and badly aprained my ankle during the Christmas holidays and these enabled me to get around (hospital wouldn't give crutches). They made such a difference. I would recommend having a pair in the house even if you are not a walker just for such an eventuallity! They are strong, of good quality and a bargain.

There are Issues, 22 March 2011

I bought a pair of these poles due to the price as I wanted to try see how they could assist me. To clarify I've never used any other poles and so have nothing to compare these to, however, I did think that they were relatively flexible, and on an uphill, I felt the poles waxed and waned too much for me. They didn't instill confident. Now this may not be anything different to many other poles, as I said previously I have no other comparison but my other issues with these poles were that after using them on an uphill section I decided to stow them away for during a level section. Unfortunately the poles were extremely difficult to twist and slide back down in length. Indeed, after sometime I only managed to slide down one pole. The other eventually slid back down after I had to walk with it for another couple of miles.
I don't take these poles walking anymore!

This pole is perfect for new and experienced walkers, light weight and sturdy at a remarkably low price.
This pole might not brandish the most popular name or the biggest brand but, clearly gives the best performance for the price.
Fabulous.

For the price these walking poles are unbelievable value.I thought the price would mean a lack of quality but i was wrong. There is nothing cheap and nasty about them and they really take the strain off your knees. They have stood up to everything i have thrown at them including some harsh winter conditions.

Cheap But Certainly NOT Nasty, 14 July 2010

I bought one of these for my wife who has trouble walking from time-to-time, and it has proved a boon for her.
The cheap price tag did cause me to raise an eyebrow whilst in-store, but the wife wanted it, so who am I to disobey the wife!!!
The pole is excellent; solid, sturdy and tough it has been a true revelation. We haven't tried it in snow or ice as yet (I have used it too) but expect it will stand up to the rigours of those conditions too. I will be returning to the store just shortly to purchase one for myself and I will NOT be tempted by some of it's more expensive competitors - this is an ideal pole that could quite easily pass for being something alot more expensive than it really is. Probably one of the best deals we've ever had in the store.
