Hi Gear Ion 2, 28 January 2012
By timballoon (Milton Keynes)
Nice little tent. Lightweight and easy to pitch. Interior first though, which can be a pain in wet conditions. Slightly too small for a 6 footer! Warm and comfortable with no leaks and minimal condensation. Not much storage space for wet boots etc. If you're a tall person, then probably better to buy the 3 berth version, otherwise the Ion 2 is a great value little tent. Recommended.
great tent nice and simple., 17 January 2012

Hi Gear Ion 2-2 Berth Festival tent, 23 August 2011
By Suzanne and Pippa (Cardiff)
Awesome little tent which pitched in 5-10 mins and withstood the torrential downpours and fine rain of the Green Man Festival in Brecon Wales.
Compact tent which meant a bit of a squeeze with rucksacks for two women !! - easily resolved if you lay luggage lengthways. No condensation or morning damp so gear stayed dry even against the sides :-) Poles feel a little flimsey, and maybe pack some spare pegs as they bend with tough ground but hey!! for the price it's great considering my Vango 3 man leaked at the first downpour and pegs bent on first dry ground. Really recommend for festivals and backpacking. Easily folds down and packs away. Lightweight and dry- and warm at night ;-) I am an experienced camper and am really impressed with this!!

My friend bought this as a last minute replacement for our trip to the Orkney Islands. Initially I mocked it, as I was sure that a £20 Festival tent would be dreadful for a full on Wild camping adventure.
In reality this tent held off full gale force winds and torrential rain. In fact, it out performed my Terranova, that cost over 10 times the price.
I cannot recommend this tent enough.
Amazing.
Really good light weight tent, 09 August 2011
By James (Lancaster)
I bought this tent as going walking holiday in Scotland, its light weight made it easy to carry. I did use it as a one person tent as had rucksack etc, Two people and belongings could have been a squeeze but had packed for 5 days. Would have been fine for two if had been a weekend away or had the car handy. Very much worth the money paid.

I purchased this tent for a trip to Santa Pod raceway with my young son. Very easy to put up and stayed water tight despite heavy rain and driving winds!!
Would def reccommend for occasional use.

I bought this tent as a first time camper....first pitching was fine, easy to pitch, waterproof, easy packed away. Second pitching went up fine, pole broke....had it fixed at a cost of £5, fair enough.....went to pitch again, another pole broke....not too happy really. If it wasn't for the broken poles, the tent would be perfect for one adult and 1 child for a weekend/festival. I did expect to be able to use it more than once.

I have used this tent for 18 months, twice in France for two weeks at a time and five or six weekends in england and wales. The first time in France the weather was very, very hot,as a precaution i uncliped one end of each pole to reduce tension,as i have had poles snap with the heat. When the sun went down I recliped the poles no probs.
The weekend to wales was awfull high winds and a lot of heavy rain. The tent stood up to it and I was kept bone dry.
I have also watched this tent in the bristol stores display area, through wind, rain and snow,it stood up to it all.
the tent packed is very small and light ideal for biking.
One person plus luggage or two people and hard cases on the bike.
Highly recomended.

Brilliant for a fest, 30 August 2010

I bought this tent for the Creamfields 2010 festival. The spot I was in was extremely windy but it pitched easily with just myself doing it. It withstood the wind and rain well on the first night as well as all of the other campers traipsing around it. One of the poles did get damaged and came apart but it was easily remidied without taking the whole thing down again and a squeeze to the metal bit and bobs ya uncle, it was all sturdy again! Packed it up within about 10 minutes, this is including all of my clothes stuff!!! love it

Perfect for festivals it probably won't come home from!, 26 January 2010

Bought this tent for Reading Festival and was pleasingly surprised - basically we just wanted an el cheapo tent to get wrecked. This one stood up masterfully to people traipsing all over it at all hours of the day and night.
Easy to pitch but fairly small - you'd only want to share it with someone who you knew rather well! Came down fairly easily as well, and cleaned up well.
It does feel a little flimsy if you're used to a more substantial tent, but it's still ideal for kids and festivals.
