We bought this tent with vouchers we got for Christmas and couldn't wait to go away and use it. We had to wait until June when we went to Cornwall for 10 days. It rained heavily for 8 of those days, and we had some pretty strong winds. We were in the middle of Bodmin moor and this tent held up brilliantly. No leaks, and stayed put in the strongest gales. Only reason I have not given it 5 stars is, it would have been nice if the porch area was attached to the groundsheet, or pegged down a bit better as the wind did come under it a bit. All in all though, a fantastic tent, well worth the money, and we can't wait to go away again!

Great tent, kept dry in peak district heavy rain for 2 nights, quick to dry. Easy to assemble and good room. Sadly wouldn't want to cook inside as not too high.

I took this tent to the foot of the Ochil Hills from 21st to the 24th of May 2011, yes, one of the worst weekends for weather that Scotland has seen in a long time, 100 mile an hour winds and torrential rain. I saw caravans being moved by the gales, I saw lesser tents being shredded, but me and the 4 children were warm and dry in this fantastic tent, which I was testing out for the first time as I only bought it from the Coatbridge store two weeks before hand. Roll on the summer till I get away again !!

I purchased this tent from the wakefield store as they have a great selection on show i was looking for a lightwieght tent with plenty of storagespace for longer motorcycle trips this tent ticked all the boxes. It was so easy to erect as all tunnel tents are my first weekend away was in the Lakeswere it rained both nigts and rain it did with no let up but i stayed dry and warm inside although the front section does not have a SIG which was a little drafty it did ot affect the tents waterproofness infact the only time it let water in was when i shufffled off to the toilet in the night apart from that spot on.

Fantastic Tent!, 24 June 2010

Bought the Electron 4 tent in-store in the sale for £49.99 - absolute bargain. As we intended to use it camping in Scotland, we needed a strong, weatherproof tent to accommodate two adults and a Labrador dog!
Took it for our first camping trip to Isle of Skye this week. Found it easy to erect and dismantle. It withstood continuous wind speeds of 20+mph with very strong gusts and driving rain. No leaks, the water just ran off the flysheet. The rain didn't even encroach into the porch area much (the flysheet and ground sheet are separate in this), maybe just a little at the windward side, but only at the edges.
The porch is a nice feature, and allowed us room to sit in camping chairs and to store bits and pieces without having to clog up the main room. Good tie-backs for main doors and porch window 'curtains'.
Nice bright yellow guy ropes so easily visible.
The fly screen door was invaluable, especially in midge season, and it kept the little critters out! When the interior doors are fully open you can tuck the doors into the insert pocket to keep them out of the way.
It would be very cosy for four people, but was the perfect size for our needs.
Downsides? Maybe one extra flysheet pegging position in the front of the porch in the centre, just to keep it in better position in the wind.
Extremely pleased with my purchase and hope to enjoy many more camping excursions into the wilds with it.

Almost top marks, would much rather see some means of pegging the porch awning down and a real shame its not fixed to the main tent frame to stop the draughts - saying that its only for storage but it would be nice to have the option to allow sleeping in awning. For what we paid (£50) as the tent we originally wanted was sold from under our nose - thanks to the helpful staff for the upgrade at no extra cost - still a bargain at normal price.

we got this tent last year as our other tent was far to big. 1st time we used it one of the zips came off on our first night of camping ,managed to sort it after a good fight with it then the door would not shut over as the bottom part of the zip seemed to small once opened we couldnt shut it again now looking for yet another tent!!!
Withstands Highland Storms, 17 February 2010

The Electron 4 is a very spacious 4 person tent, easy to erect. We even managed to put this tent up in a storm. We used this tent, along with the Ion 3, whilst wild camping in Scotland. Winds were recorded in nearby glens of over 70mph overnight, but these tents remained wind and rainproof throughout. We were warm and dry and the tents performed excellently. Very good quality for this price.
