Maximum Protection from the Elements, 25 February 2010
By Mountain Goat
This jacket lived up to its rave reviews found elsewhere on the internet. Its 2-layer construction gave me a relatively lightweight jacket in exchange for total wind and water protection. On top of just two other relatively thin layers I was as warm and as dry as I needed to be and the highly breathable inner layer did its job to keep the inside of the jacket dry during the more energetic periods.
The hood, with its thickened peak design, gave me the additional protection I desired from continuous blasts of snow, as I’m sure it would do when faced with driving rain. I found the pockets (including the large inside map pocket) adequate for all my ‘bits and pieces’ except perhaps when wearing a climbing harness as the lower two pockets then become difficult to access – but a very small hardship to suffer in the face of all the excellent features offered up by this ‘king’ of wet & windy weather jackets!

i bought this jacket for my brothers birthday and he was well impressed with it.As a keen walker and mountain climber he said its lightweight, waterprof, and very warm which was everything he was looking for.He also said it keeps the wind out when hes at the top off a windy mountain.Exellent buy and well worth the money.A***
