Best coat I ever purchased, 09 August 2011
By Paulos
I've had various other well known brands of coat but this is by far the best, the hood is simply great and the whole coat gives a quality like feel. I ordered online which I would recommend to all, jacket wasn't in stock, staff couldn't be more helpful, rang me back when it was in stock. Five Stars.

Mera Peak Jacket, 06 January 2011
By damian (sheffield)
Pros: Well fitting jacket with a really nice hood, which is great for trekking in heavy showers, and fairly light weight so easy to carry in a day sack.
Cons: The cuff adjusters are a good idea in theory - they are designed to improve on velcro and not to get caught on fluff&stuff. In practice they do not maintain much cohesion at all, and are subsequently always coming undone which can be very frustrating. However, after sending the jacket back to Berghaus they swapped the cuff adjusters for standard velcro (at no extra cost) which works brilliantly. I only give three stars as I see the cuff problem as a design flaw.

Also, be aware that this jacket is not designed to have a fleece zipped inside.

Great coat, 30 October 2010
By Vinnie (Yorkshire)
I have recently bought this coat and i am very happy with it. It looks great and the fold away hood is a cool feature.
I have not yet tested it against the elements, so I can't personally review that aspect. However the previous comments have already stated how good it is, and were the reason I trusted to buy it myself.
Just a couple of things to bring to your attention, it states in the coat description that it is an Interactive (IA) jackets and any Berghaus fleece can be zipped in, as far as I can tell, you can't. Theres no extra zips, sleeve hooks or collar hooks for holding one in place.
Its not a major problem as the jacket is flawless everywhere else, just thought I'd state it so if you preferred this feature you're not to be disappointed. A coat hook would have been useful too, but I'm just been picky now.

Pure Class!, 19 April 2010
By tsbooth (Hinckley)
I recently purchase this fantastic Jacket, having purchased many other brands over the years. this is the first Berghaus that i have purchased. Only owning this jacket for 2 months already it has proved to stand up to the reviews. Not only does it look very stylish, the materials and build is next to nothing. It feels tough yet wears very light. I was caught the other week in a heavy rain storm and i have never seen the water run off so well. If you are prepared to spend the cash, its well worth the money. Out of 3 different brands of similar jackets this is by far the best all rounder. Now go buy it!

Maximum Protection from the Elements, 25 February 2010
By Mountain Goat
This jacket lived up to its rave reviews found elsewhere on the internet. Its 2-layer construction gave me a relatively lightweight jacket in exchange for total wind and water protection. On top of just two other relatively thin layers I was as warm and as dry as I needed to be and the highly breathable inner layer did its job to keep the inside of the jacket dry during the more energetic periods.

The hood, with its thickened peak design, gave me the additional protection I desired from continuous blasts of snow, as I’m sure it would do when faced with driving rain. I found the pockets (including the large inside map pocket) adequate for all my ‘bits and pieces’ except perhaps when wearing a climbing harness as the lower two pockets then become difficult to access – but a very small hardship to suffer in the face of all the excellent features offered up by this ‘king’ of wet & windy weather jackets!
