An exceptionally versatile windproof jacket for total comfort in all kinds of outdoor activity.
The Paramo Fuera Ascent Windproof Jacket
offers a tough, lightweight alternative in summer alpine conditions and milder weather.
The Nikwax Windproof is a closely woven microfibre fabric which cuts out wind chill and protects your insulation, whilst still allowing the wicking of moisture away from the body. The DWR helps to deflect water, being easily maintained through use of Nikwak re-proofing products. If you do get caught in a storm then the fabric is extremely quick drying, and the windproof performance won't drop as it dries.
- Underarm panels provide excellent freedom of movement for climbing and other activities
- Precisely adjustable cuffs with hook & loop fastening
- Hem cord for additional temperature control
- Two-way reversed front zip for temperature control
- All features designed for single gloved hand adjustment

Bought this today, went on a 8 miler in the Peaks, high wind and high exertion. The jacket performed brilliantly, I only needed a base layer!
Quality item, can see me using this for numerous activities: running, cycling, golf, etc etc
Waste of money, 12 June 2015
Wind wise this jacket is great, but show water at it and it crumples.
Before anyone replies I am more than happy that this jacket is NOT classed as waterproof but resistant. However, in a recent shower I decided to walk around the block to check how resistant the coat was. The answer, not very! I was gone 5 minutes, walked no more than four hundred yards and my arms were wet as was the point where my empty rucksack was touching the coat meaning that my t-shirt underneath was wet. For £72 you can get better for your money.
I've got other Paramo jackets which are awesome, this one is definitely not awesome, I will be contacting Paramo!
Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin!, 19 January 2015

I bought this jacket 2 years ago and have never been let down by it, wether dog or hill walking, biking or running! The most Windproof of jackets I have EVER owned - beats all other thin shells hands-down. Easy to care for and twinned with NikWax Wash-in waterproofing the jacket is highly water-resistant - not proof but good enough for spring/summer/autumn showers - but dries in a flash! I was sceptical about Paramo but seeing so many professionals wearing and swearing by it convinced me to give it a try - love it!
Epic piece of kit, 06 January 2015

I am an enthusiastic moutain biker, but I hate the "cyclist jacket" look. I went for this Paramo after reading a few good reviews and I am so impressed by it. It looks great to begin with, wouldn't look out of place down the pub. the reflective trim is subtle and the cut and fit is perfect allowing full mobility of the arms and the drop down at the rear is the spot on length. Cuffs are huge but adjustable you can wear this sleeves rolled up if you like, but also tightens up enough to stop a draft going up your sleeves. I love the hood it's got a wired peak, double adjustment, it doesn't flap, it fits over my helmet (fox flux) and its high enough to protect your neck from the elements. The material is exceptionally soft against the skin it's nearly like wearing a silk shirt!
Wind proof... Yes very but it's so breathable! Bombing downhill I get no wind chill, climbing up hill I don't over heat for want of a better phrase "it keeps me cosy"
It's currently the 5th of Jan 2015, ive been riding at night in a drizzle and I'm warm and dry with just a T shirt on underneath, this is with the pit zips done up!
It's not water proof it is water repellent to an extent mines treated with nik wax wash in and I'm yet to get wet, if however you did get drenched the Paramo dries so quickly, and if the weather does a full 180 this jacket packed down small enough to fit in my 2 litre camel back with tools and water included.
I've had a few good cycling jackets but this might be the best I've owned so far.
Excellent multi-purpose windproof, 22 July 2014
By boudreaux (cheltenham)
I own both the Paramo windproofs available at GO, for me this one is better than the smock as it's more versatile & has much better venting. This jacket has pack/harness friendly pockets with good tabs for ease of opening, the hood is wired & has a good level of adjustment. The jacket packs down really small so usually lives in the mesh pocket on the front of my rucksack for easy access. What sets this apart from the smock is the excellent full length zip and the gigantic pit zips which provide superb ventilation. Allied with the long scooped tail, this jacket is extremely well suited to high intensity exercise such as cycling or running. I'd say that the smock is better for wearing all day walking in cooler conditions where the venting isn't so important. This isn't a waterproof jacket, I have treated mine with Nikwax and it will keep out a fine rain at most but quickly becomes overwhelmed by anything heavier. I chose this jacket over a soft shell as it seems to offer all the soft shell features without the extra insulation thus making it perfect for spring, summer & autumn use, all you need to do is choose your base layers appropriately! Highly recommended kit!
