A large pack for long-haul travellers who don't slow down for their luggage.
The Osprey Sojourn 28"/80L Convertible Wheeled Rucksack uses their lightweight 'High Road' chassis and clever 'Straightjacket' suspension/compression system for an easy, sturdy solution to the rigours of travel.
Osprey's High Road™ Chassis features a multi-position ergonomic retractable handle, a tough 6001 Aluminum frame, an ultra-durable light-weight composite base with an integrated foot/grab handle, over-sized grippy rollerblade wheels and a design with plenty of clearance.
When you do need to carry the Sojourn, the deluxe adjustable/removable harness and hipbelt (with vented backpanel) is stowed behind a zippered compartment on the back of your pack, just unzip and you're ready to go. The harness can be adjusted to fit different sized torsos.
Foam sidewalls keep your load secure, and inside the main compartment there are front panel zippered mesh pockets, side zippered mesh and fabric pockets and compression straps to keep your clothes and gear in place and organised.
An easy access liquids/accessory pocket at the top of the pack gives you quick access to your liquids when you're passing through airport security.

4+ years on still going strong, 16 March 2016

Been really happy with this bag, telling that it's been around a few years and still holding it's value. I've bad knees so usually just use it wheeled but converting to a ruck sack has provide useful, especially when I needed two hands free, like stepping off a ferry in Thailand! Expanded it can take quite a bit. It's been to the far east and India several times. Apart from a couple of plastic zip tags coming off, it has suffered no rips or tears to the fabric and all the mechanics still work well. I'm now purchasing a daylight day sack to attach. It can topple if too much is hung off the front, but that's to be expected if you pack that way!

We do not regret for s moment purchasing this rucksack. its so sturdy, easy to convert from the backpack to the trolley. this option was brilliant for me as we travelled through Vietnam, there were some areas I could use the pull along and some I couldn't. the backpack straps are comfortable and the trolley handle is very strong. The main compartment is so flexible with how things are stored too, we managed to carry 95% of our belongings for the two of us for a whole month away in the one backpack!

Steer clear of this pack. I bought one last year for a month trip to the Far East. After about 3 weeks the handle refused to extend and I had to manage by carrying the bag around. Got it sent back to Osprey for replacement but they refused to replace, by the next time I use it it will be out of warranty, so will be interesting to find what they do if it fails again. Various other online posts have commented on problems with handles and Osprey even give you an online tutorial for problems with the 60L. They are well aware of the problems but do nothing about it.

Osprey Sojourn 28"/80 Wheeled Convertible Travel Pack, 09 September 2013

Been doing professional outdoor pursuits since 82. I've all ways used rucksacks for travelling so this find was a 'Darwin ' moment of evolving 3 separate species into one.
The product is well made to start, with good stitching and good materials so it will stand up to the rigors of travelling.
The ability for it to be transformed from one configuration to another of the 3 options was well demonstrated traversing London recently.
Train in, travel bag. Station to underground transport trolley. Underground steps Rucksack.. Rush hour tube connection with commuters ,holder.
Transition from one to another configuration is quick and simple.
To sum up, it's for people who need to transport large volumes of kit when travelling through cities / destinations . Not for the treck into Everest base camp. Ideal Hotel 'Dump sack' and with the add-ons you can attach day sacks for further excursions once you reach your destination.
Solid peace of kit.
