A unisex hiking pack that skips on weight but not on features.
"A great hillwalking pack for those wanting a combination of low weight and comfort" - Trail Magazine, Best In Test September 2016
The Osprey Exos 48
combines size, comfort and clever design in a lightweight rucksack that's ideal for multi-day treks.
Osprey's Airspeed suspended mesh back panel provides a stable, supported load carrying platform that keeps the load slightly away from your back to allow air to circulate, so you stay cool and dry. The dual-mesh constructed ExoFoam harness and hip belt provides extra stability for a comfortable all-round fit.
On the outside of the bag there are plenty of storage solutions - Stow-on-the-Go loops allow you to attach your trekking poles without removing the pack from your back, a side loop lets you easily carry an ice axe, while extra storage comes from zipped hip pockets for small essentials, side mesh pockets for bottles and a front stretch pocket, ideal for keeping wet clothing separate from your other gear.
Side straps allow you to compress the bag down when it isn't full, and the top lid can be removed completely, with a unique Osprey FlapJacket ensuring your equipment is still protected inside.
- Internal sleeve for hydration systems
- Removable sleeping pad straps
- Sternum strap with emergency whistle

Bought this for long distance walks. It's brilliant for this. Very well thought out bag. I'm 5.7 and it fits well. I took up to 14kg in it easily. Very comfy and no sweaty back issues. Enough space for full camping kit but not so much it encourages you to carry too much!

Cannot praise this pack enough while doing my Mountain Leaders and BELA NNAS etc I was using a similar sized but older north face pack and heavier, saw this in the shop and immediately was impressed with the style and design picked it up an oh my word how light wished I'd had it all that time ago. Had a play with how its set up and the removable lid, pockets etc and just got it there and then. I know a good pack when I see one and theres some thought gone into this, all what you need and nothing you don't. Lowe alpine do a very similar one which I liked but this just had the edge for me, having already used the Talon 33 as my daysack.
Contours the body really well, not as adjustable like the talon is but I'm 6ft and have no problems with the medium size pack. Having a sweating back whilst climbing hard on the hills was always a problem for me but not with this pack at all ventilation is great. Straps are comfier than they look and the size pockets are well placed. Water bladder fits in a separate inner pocket on this one but works ok. Side pockets are nice and hug bottles well with good access. Outer straps and clips look flimsy but I've had no problems and I've clocked up some good miles and nights out with it so far. The inner top flap so you can remove the lid gets in the way a bit sometimes but I can live with it. Good top and inner lid pockets for small stuff and a key clip. Stretchy back for that wet stuff. Overall I'm really impressed with it only advice I'd give is don't try and over load it and go for a fast light option, once you get a bit of weight in the bag does trend to sag a lot at the bottom as it's design doesn't allow for it well. If you doing ML,WGL or BELA etc would recommend it. Just be aware of the hydration hose magnet on the chest strap when using your compass!!
The perfect rucksack!, 05 June 2014

I purchased this for a Mountain Leader course and have been totally thrilled with it. It's so lightweight yet strong and with a great range of compartments and gadgets. I had the lightest pack for my expedition but with enough space for everything I needed for an overnight camp. I love the pockets on the waist band, the design, everything about it!
