AntiGravity™ 3D suspended mesh backpanel/hipbelt - its seamless mesh and 3D cavity backpanel gives you unrivalled ventilation and comfort, with excellent load-carrying performance

FlapJacket™ top cover (for use when lid is removed) - provides protection, compression and extra head clearance

Stow-on-the-Go™ lets you stash your trekking poles quickly and conveniently without removing your pack

Fit-on-the-Fly™ adjustable hook and loop hipbelt - lets you adapt the pack to your size, to give you the best fit

InsideOut™ compression provides impressive load support, reducing fatigue so you can push your adventures harder and longer.

Add to all that the Atmos Ag's multiple entry points, Stow-on-the-Go™ trekking pole attachment, large sleeping bag base compartment and the (integrated, detachable) raincover in the (removeable) lid and you've got a pack that will serve you well whatever your journey.

If you are unable to use Osprey's pack sizing app, then measure yourself by following these steps:

1. Locate your C7 vertebrae  (the bony bump at the base of your neck, where the slope of your shoulder meets your neck) - tilt your head forward to locate it more easily

2. Place your hands on the very top of your hips so you can feel your iliac crest, which creates your ""hip shelf""

3. Measure the length between the C7 vertebrae and the iliac crest, making sure to follow the contours of your spine.

Based on your measurement, select the size which you best fall into:

Amazing comfort, 07 December 2016
By Will (Nottingham)
I have used my trusty Hi-Gear 75 pack since I was a Scout, but the inexorable march of time has degraded both the bag and my lower back. My last outing was especially painful and we cut the second day short as a result. I needed something that was going to allow me to carry on with my hobby without having to concede that maybe I was too over the hill to go over a hill.

This bag has been my saviour. I was slightly sceptical that a bit of mesh and strapping would make so much difference. Then I put this pack on for the first time fully loaded up with gear for a two night camp/hike. The way it puts a larger proportion of weight on my hips instead of all on my shoulders means that I am able to go the full day with a 18kg pack and not being a crippled mess at the end of it. It really does make a difference. I found it best to sling the bag on with shoulder straps loose, and get the waist band fitted and tightened over the hips first before then tightening the shoulder straps. It was the reverse with my old bag.

I was also glad of the air gap between my back and the pack. There is nothing quite as unpleasant as putting a pack soaked in your own sweat back on after a rest. With the Atmos I was able to sweat like a racehorse without it wicking into the bag, instead having it run down my back and into my pants where it belongs.

The water bottle pockets require a bit of practice to get bottles in and out without looking, but I got it eventually. I will add the water carrier to this pack soon though as it’ll make for a more balanced load.

Even though this bag is water resistant to an extent, I loved the built-in rain cover in the very top compartment. As I favour camping in a hammock over a tent, it has been nice having facility to make my bag quickly completely water proof overnight

Build quality seems first rate. I am reassured by their excellent warranty, and decided to buy from Go Outdoors to take advantage of a limited discount. I do not foresee any issues though. What may not be clear from the picture is that the traditional side pockets are not missing, merely that they are on the back between the main compartment and back mesh pocket. Also be aware Go Outdoors only stock the medium size of this pack. This is on the upper limit for me being 6.0ft, so if you are taller, find the large size.

So far I have zero complaints. The chest strap has a built-in whistle that goes as loud as stepping on a shrew, but I had no idea this was an Osprey feature, and I’m sure my screams as I fall off the mountainside will suffice to attract the requisite attention from my friends. I have also been able to fit everything from my 75l bag into this supposed 65l bag, so either I am just packing more efficiently or there is some Tardis magic going on with this bag. If it lasts as long as my Hi-Gear one did, it should be passing this down to my son when I am a pensioner/dead.

Outstanding!, 17 April 2016
By Electric Monk (Essex)
Recently upgraded from a 20 year old pack, and have been very impressed. So far I've trekked about 50 miles with this fully loaded (c17kg), and cannot fault it. It feels like carrying less than half the load, and all the weight goes through your hips; the shoulder straps feel optional (don't recommend trying this though).
It takes a little while to fully adjust for maximum comfort, but is time well spent.
The hip pockets are useful, and you can comfortably stash two 1l water bottles in the lower side mesh pockets. There is a technique to getting them back in, but when mastered is easy to drink while moving.
The stow-on-the-fly pole loops are also useful.
This is twice what I would normally spend on a pack, but it is without a doubt the most comfortable rucksack I have owned.
