poor quality stove, 20 October 2016

This stove looks the part but along with all the others I had problems with the stove not releasing gas from the cylinders.
All the cylinders work perfectly on my msr stove, I guess you get what you pay for and I suggest you spend a little more and buy one of better quality.

Bought this several months ago. Only reason I didn't take it back is because it would have cost more in fuel to return it. Same problems as most. The stove doesn't break the seal with out using God like strength to tighten it. Stove when it finally works is great. I appreciate what some say but I feel they are the lucky ones. I use main stream gas canisters such as colemans etc. My old msr rocket was dearer but better.

Ignore negative comments used it this weekend and it perfect hardly had to screw it on and had it on and off at least 5 times and perfect every time
Great product for price only downside is that it comes in bag not a box but easy sorted
Superb stove - bad reviews are down to faulty gas bottles !, 31 July 2016
By neddyseegoon (Solihull)
Bought this stove and a Coleman Performance C300 Gas bottle . When I got it home I tested it out and found the same problem as other reviewers - had to overtighten the stove to the bottle and the gas was sporadic and eventually died out !
Fortunately I also bought another gas bottle from The Range ( 50p cheaper than the Coleman bottle and double the size !!) I tried the stove on this bottle and it worked perfectly , only had to put the stove on finger tight and the gas roared out !! Boils 2 mugs worth of water in just over 2 minutes ! So I would say the fault is with the bottles , not the stove .
I would advise to check the connection between bottle and stove before leaving the shop or when you get to your car .
On comparing the XT-2 to the MSR pocketrocket they look exactly the same , only that the XT-2 is more than half the price !
Easy to use - don't understand these poor reviews, 29 June 2016

I bought one of these today for an upcoming cycle tour. I hadn't read the reviews prior to purchase so was concerned to see the average reviews here and concerns over fitting to canister.... When I got home from work I unpacked the stove and attached it to the Coleman canister I had picked up.
I screwed it on firmly, but not excessively tightly. I'm a bike mechanic and I can safely say you don't need excessive force at all. Went on easily and snugly, turned the little tap on the stove and lit it - so easy.
Cannot believe how easy it was to mount to the canister and how good the quality feels. I'm really impressed.
I got a 240g gas and a sola-x cookset. If you remove the stove from the gas it all fits inside the cookset. 340g gas, sola-x 2 piece cookset and XT-2 comes to 743g. I'm happy with that for the price, add my 7g coffee filter and you've got a mean 750g coffee brew kit with enough gas for a 2 week trip.
