A sturdy semi-geodesic framed tent with a decent sized porch for your wet and muddy gear - great for expeditions.
The OEX Cougar II
gives you all you need for comfortable
camping, whether solo or with a companion, but weighs next to nothing
and packs down to a size that won't slow you down.
With a simple semi-geodesic design, robust flysheet and groundsheet, and aluminium
poles, it is tough enough to protect you from stormy weather. The
groundsheet is pre-attached, making pitching easy and keeping
insects out. The compact front porch gives you room to store your wet
kit and boots.
OEX tents have been built to withstand the trials of outdoor adventures
and expeditions. They use 7075 lightweight aluminium poles, with durable
poly flysheets that won't falter in arduous conditions, and will give
you years of service.
The flysheet is very waterproof (rated to 5000mm) with a fire-retardant coating which will self-extinguish if exposed to flame.
Every OEX tent comes with a waterproof 'split bag', letting you divide
the tent into two parts and share the carrying load. Each carry bag has
pre-spaced buckle loops, so you can easily attach them to the outside of
the OEX Vallo Rucksack.
- Split waterproof carry bags (1 x for tent outer / 1 x for poles & bedroom)
- Reflective piping

Love this tent at first but after only ten outings the zipper for the rain fly fell apart leaving us extremely cold, luckily there was no rain during the night. Outherwise our gear would of been soaked.
I'm extremely Disappointed as it's advertised as an expedition tent. This was not down to rough use as i have been campaigning my entire life and still have tents from 10years ago in perfect condition. Hope this issue gets resolved.
So far so good with a few reservations, 01 June 2016

Super quick to erect. I did what you should never do and put it up at a campsite without practicing. Not a problem as it was so easy and only took 10 minutes on my own.
Outer gets pitched first, which is great if it was raining as you can get your kit inside without it getting too wet.
Quality feels good, zips sturdy, groundsheet solid and I especially like the fluorescent strip around the base of the flysheet.
My only concern at the moment is the hooks that support the inner. Around the entrance they seem strained and I am not sure how long they are going to last. They are elasticated but I still used a loop of para-cord to reduce the stress.
Apart form that its a good tent.

I have used this tent multiple times in the Lake District from June to December in 2015 and I am very impressed. Rock solid in some very windy conditions and never let a drop of water in despite the torrential downs pours. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good tent at a reasonable price.

I would have been in a very bad situation if not for this tent so I have nothing but praise for it.
I had a wildcamp planned in the lake district on the 3/3/16 and bad weather came in and reduced visilibty to virtually on the fell tops. Due to this I reached my destination as it got dark and in a complete blizzard with high winds.
I managed to get the tent up within ten minutes on my own and with just the light of my head torch (also first time pitching). Through the night the temperature dropped below -8 and the wind didn't let off until the morning.
The tent didn't move all night and there was ample room for me and my springer spaniel and easily another person. The tent came down and packed away in the two dry bags perfectly.
So glad I went for this tent over some of the terra novas I was looking at... can't wait til the next time I use it!
fantastic easy pitch, 28 February 2016

absolutely fantastic tent me and my son camped out in the Mendip on 26/02/16 and i must say what a great piece of kit easy to pitch ten Min from pulling the tags off to getting a brew on this tent held up to the wind extremely well it is rock solid.
this tent has plenty of room for two and all your gear cannot fault this tent.
and the fact comes in two waterproof bags that have loops for attaching to your rucksack just sweetens the deal
