A tough semi-geodesic expedition tent, with excellent headroom and a roomy front porch to store boots and bags.
The OEX Bandicoot II
gives you all you need for comfortable camping, whether solo or with a companion, but weighs next to nothing and packs down to a size that won't slow you down.
Its semi-geodesic design, robust flysheet and groundsheet and aluminium poles make it tough enough to protect you from stormy weather. The groundsheet is pre-attached, making pitching easy and keeping insects out. The compact front porch gives you room to store your wet kit and boots.
OEX tents have been built to withstand the trials of outdoor adventures and expeditions. They use 7075 lightweight aluminium poles, with durable poly flysheets that won't falter in arduous conditions, and will give you years of service.
The flysheet is very waterproof (rated to 5000mm) with a fire-retardant coating which will self-extinguish if exposed to flame.
Every OEX tent comes with a waterproof 'split bag', letting you divide the tent into two parts and share the carrying load. Each carry bag has pre-spaced buckle loops, so you can easily attach them to the outside of the OEX Vallo Rucksack.
- Split waterproof carry bags (1 x for tent outer / 1 x for poles & bedroom)
- Reflective piping

Serious design/manufacturing fault, 01 September 2016
By Dundon (Torbay)
This tent (oex bandicoot ii) from purchase seemed like a very good value and good quality tent. I used it <10 times and it seemed good.
Recently, one of the eyelets broke away from the tent - the eyelets are VERY important to hold the poles in place and keep the tent up. (Cant return. tent broke after 1 year and 2 days - 1 year warranty)
I thought maybe a 1 off fault, but after closer inspection, every eyelet on the tent has been warped and is on the verge of breaking. I am an enthusiastically experienced camper and outdoor enthusiast and I can tell you that this tent has been treated very well in its just over 1 year life.
A repair cannot be done by myself as the eyelets are high tensile and the fabric has been damaged also.
This is a serious overlook from the engineers and I am very disappointed that no refund or replacement will be coming my way.
Shoddy, shoddy, shoddy...., 09 May 2016

Bandicoot 2 version 1 should not even be on the shelves due to pole stud issue which I encountered on first use. Enough reviews highlight it here alone. Returned to GO and got the V2. Some improvements such as the upgraded pole eyelets, poles and front vent guys BUT the inner was completely missing a toggle attachment point.... Yet another return to GO....dull....

Also had a pole eyelet pop out on first use. I'm an experienced user and outdoor instructor so know what I'm looking at. Returned to Go and got the version 2 at the advice of OEX. We'll see if this issue has been resolved in the upgrade. On the plus side a pretty bomber tent pitched on the North coast in a Northerly wind so I'm hopeful.

Bought 6 of these tents for college as impressed with price and build quality. But after 2 outings 2 tents have lost the eyelets that hold the pole in place. Yet to try and return them.
Good for the price but with caveats, 03 September 2015

I bought this tent for wild camping and for use at music festivals. It's a great tent for the price. However, one of the ringlets on the fly sheet has already fallen off after the first use. Also, one of the poles got bent whilst I was at a festival. Someone fell on it while they were drunk. But they did not fall on it particularly hard. I would've thought that the polls should stand up to more at a music festival.
