Info
The Oakland XL is the largest of the Outwell Oakland range, and is ideal for larger families who want plenty of space and a touch of luxury when holidaying. Easily pitched and spacious, this
5 person tent has a 3 + 2 inner that is not only pre attached for ease, but is adjustable, so you can extend or subtract with simplicity.
The materials in the Oakland XL are designed to make sure that all 5 campers are happy, with mesh areas, breathable polyester as well as a double coated polyethylene floor.
With two bedrooms and 1 living area, the Oakland XL also packs in plenty of space for luggage and other essentials, so even if you're idea of travelling light involves the kitchen sink, the Oakland XL can cope.
A mix of steel and fibreglass poles provide plenty of stability, even in rough weathers, and the seam sealed flysheet and reinforced areas all pile on the peace of mind.
As well as the tough outer, the steel frame, steel poles and heavy duty zips, the Oakland XL also has a softer side, with mesh pockets, inbuilt organiser pockets and large windows, so you get all the protection, with classic good looks and comfort inbuilt, so with an Oakland XL, you can all sleep safely.

love it!, 27 September 2011

Have been looking to replace our 9-yr old Gelert 4-man tunnel tent for a while now but never found a tent as roomy in the living area, nor that came in our favoured tunnel style, and having seen a few Outwell models withstand howling gales while our poles snapped and tent was battered, we immediately fell in love with this model when we saw it on display at our local GoOutdoors...and it's lived up to expectations!! Easy to erect, tons of living space, we kept the bedroom area as one huge room (2 adults and 1 child), and along with the side porch we bought to go with it, it withstood torrential rain and howling winds (again...) admirably.
Only down side is the outer door flap has to be zipped/velcroed shut separately from the inner mossie net which is a bit of a pain, and don't think the plastic egs would be much use in hard ground ..we always use steel pegs so didn't cause us any concerns...overall, love it and can't wait to use it again! ;-D

Great value tent, 20 August 2011

This tent is very easy to put up once you ignore all the videos you will find on the subject. It does seem daunting at first but if you look around you can find instructions that make it easy and you will get the tent up in 15 mins.
It is well made and sturdy. Plenty of light through the big windows and loads of room in the sleeping and living areas.
The doors can be a bit of a pain with rain run off as you open them but with practice this can be avoided.
The front door opens into a great canopy with extra poles.
Overall a great tent that we would recommend any couple or family buy.
