A public right-of-way is set to be moved as part of a new stadium plan in Worcester.

Worcester City Football Club has plans to construct a new venue in the city after selling the site where it plays now, which it must leave next summer, Worcester News reports.

Developer St Modwen is now closer to starting work after the deadline for a judicial review over the stadium itself passed.

Giowvere, the Nunnery Way site is crossed by a bridleway and the company must still submit an application for it to be moved.

Those who like to put on their riding helmet and take a horse down the route may work hard to ensure any re-routing does not spoil the experience of using the bridleway.

Such controversies are a regular concern for the Open Spaces Society.

Last month, its campaigning helped prevent the diversion of a footopath at West Hoathly, near East Grinstead in West Sussex.ADNFCR-2803-ID-801426117-ADNFCR
