Nearly 500 walks will be staged by the Ramblers over the Christmas and new year period, it has been revealed.
The body has said it will run 479 events over the length and breadth of Britain between Christmas Day and January 3rd.
It stated: "Many of the walks are short and family friendly, although there'll be plenty of yomps for the seasoned hiker too."
Those looking to join in these or do their own walks could find now a good time to invest in winter jackets
to keep themselves warm when heading outdoors.
The Ramblers programme includes urban walks such as a circular route from Cardiff Bay and back, a seven-mile trek across London from Mansion House to Limehouse, while those donning hiking boots can enjoy a 15-mile hike around Hayfield in Derbyshire.
Mountain fans may enjoy climbing peaks like Sheffield Pike in the Lake District, while other featured routes include the North Downs in Kent.
