The Wild Lochaber Festival
kicks off this evening (June 1st) and a huge array of activities will be put on at the self-proclaimed outdoor capital of the UK.
Running over the Jubilee weekend and until June 8th, the festival
will include boat trips, wildlife safaris and forest walks.
Lochaber will also play host to a festival
fair, which will draw in walkers from far and wide on June 2nd and 3rd.
The event will be held at the West Highland College in Fort William.
The opening ceremony, which takes place tonight, will feature wildlife photographer Mark Hamblin, who will showcase images from his innovative 2020Vision project.
2020Vision brings together the works of 20 of the UK's best wildlife photographers working today.
The opening event costs just £7.50 and will be held at the Ben Nevis Hotel in Fort William.
It starts at 8.00pm, so outdoors enthusiasts will have plenty of time to kick off their walking boots
after a day spent trekking before heading to the hotel.
