Those who like to go walking
so much their big aim for 2012 is to head off with their hiking boots
on the West Highland Way may be among those using a new online forum.
Milngavie Tourist Information Office has created a new website - www.westhighlandwayinfo.com - for those planning to walk the 96-mile route northwards from the town to Fort William.
It means walkers can share their thoughts, tips and experiences for the benefit of others, which means those who are unfamiliar with the route can find out more before they set off.
After leaving the centre of Milngavie, urban Scotland is left behind as the route passes through lowland countryside before continuing through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, including the east bank of the loch, before continuing through mountainous scenery and under the lofty crags of Ben Nevis.
The last part of the route was recently extended by a mile from the end of the Glen Nevis road to its new finish at Gordon Square in Fort William town centre.
