People who live in Wales and are keen to go walking
more can get a bit of help from a new app.
The Ramblers has created the Welsh Walking App in partnership with Sport Wales and will be making it available from January 27th, aimed at enabling those keen to build up their exercise levels to follow a structured programme of gradually increasing activity.
And the app will be aiming to get everyone on their feet for May 5th, when the Welsh Coastal Path is officially opened, making Wales the first nation in the world to have such a path around its entire shoreline.
Director of Ramblers Cymru Angela Charlton said: "Wales is a great country for walking and we hope that this new app will help even more people to discover why walking is such a good tonic for mind, body and soul."
The advent of the path led to Wales being named the best place to walk along the coast in the world by traveller's guidebook publisher Lonely Planet last year.
It hailed the 1,377 km of "dramatic serrations, sandy bays and domineering castles" that the Welsh coast offers.
