People who pack their walking boots and head to Devon will find the county is packed with culture and sophistication.

Visit Devon has remarked on the high-class nature of the region and what it has to offer, noting some of the undoubted highlights that are must-see attractions to visitors.

For example, it nominated Exeter Cathedral as one of the most magical buildings in Devon, while the adjacent Cathedral Green is a wonderful spot to relax.

The green has recently undergone a £600,000 renovation, arguably making it the focal point of cultural Devon.

However, Victoria Hatfield, tourism development manager of Heart of Devon, is quick to point out there is far more to enjoy in the area outside of Exeter, such as the Budleigh Salteron Music and Arts Festival.

A trip to Devon can also be a good way to get children outdoors and active, after a study by Play England and Savlon recently concluded many youngsters do not get enough exercise.ADNFCR-2803-ID-800618167-ADNFCR
