Thousands of people took part in the Great Manchester Run yesterday (April 16th), which featured everyone from fun runners to world class athletes.
Heading the latter group was Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie, who completed the ten-kilometre course in just 28 minutes and two seconds.
It was the third time in a row he had won and compatriot Worknesh Kidane won the womens' race.
However, the day was also about the 36,000 people of all abilities who took part, many for the first time.
Those inspired by watching coverage of the event may wish to visit their nearest Go Outdoors store to get some jogging clothing
in order to get themselves fit and take part in future events.
Organisations that run regular races include Park Run, which holds five-kilometre races all over the country, including four locations in the Manchester area for those thinking of signing up to next year's Great Run.
