Many people living in the midlands may fancy getting down to a cycling shop and investing in some cycle gear
as Birmingham prepares to host its first Sky Ride.
The event has been held in various cities across the country and involves a large area being closed to traffic while thousands take to the streets on their bikes.
Skyride will take place from 10:00 to 16:00 BST this Sunday (September 12th), with the route stretching from the city centre at the roundabout outside New Street Station and the Rotunda, right into the south of the city.
The route southwards heads via Sherlock Street and Pershore Road into the Edgbaston area, taking a turn through Calthorpe Park and then Cannon Hill Park before passing Edgbaston cricket ground and heading back up Pershore Road to the city centre.
An entertainment village will be provided for the event in Cannon Hill Park.
Other Sky Ride events have been held over the summer in cities around Britain, including London, Manchester, Glasgow, Bath and Bradford.
