The wintry weather may be causing problems for motorists and leaving pedestrians wishing they were indoors, but up on Cairn Gorm, those heading for the slopes with their ski goggles on will have enjoyed "great" conditions today (February 9th), the ski resort has said.
It reported: "The Ptarmigan and Ciste bowls are in great condition, perfect for beginners," adding: "Great mini shred areas on Cas down line and Ptarmigan bowl."
And the Gunbarrel and Zig Zags "have improved", the bulletin stated, noting the resort's machines pushed out extra snow onto the Gunbarrel route.
The Friday Forecast is for "often excellent" visibility around the Cairngorms, with little temperature variation.
Those keen to use the facilities at Cumbria's ski clubs, however, may have some difficulty as Cumbria County Council has warned of severe conditions over the next 24 hours, with black ice on the roads making travel by car dangerous and something to be avoided unless "absolutely necessary".
