The Nevis Range ski resort has opened for the winter sports season today.
A trio of lifts, plus the gondola cable car, will be in operation today, with officials announcing that there are "some main runs complete with new powder snow on a hard base on the upper mountain".
Those keen on donning men's skiwear
or women's skiwear
and learning the sport can also go to Glenshee today, which is expecting one of its lifts to open and offer skiing on beginner slopes.
In the other resorts in the Cairngorms National Park - Cairn Gorm and the Lecht - a number of runs are already open, with the former describing conditions as "great".
However, Glencoe is yet to get enough snow for wintersports.
The Gondola cable car at the Nevis Range takes passengers up to the Snowgoose restaurant at 2,200 ft up Aonach Mor, with the facility serving Christmas dinners this week.
Such facilities can also be used by those who want to bring their walking GPS
and climb the Munros of Aonach Mor and its neighbour along the ridge, Aonach Beag, as well as mountain bike
riders in warmer months.
