Cairn Gorm ski resort has hailed a "fantastic day" for those in their skiwear
today (December 22nd).
Describing the conditions this morning, it said: "We have had all uplift open today, the snowpack has remained hard with the fresh powdery snow on top."
Most of its runs are open and those wearing ski boots
will need to be wrapped up warm, as temperatures yesterday never got above -10 C.
With the big freeze expected to continue over Christmas, the next few days will offer those spending their holidays on the Scottish slopes lots to enjoy.
The other two resorts in the Cairngorms National Park - the Lecht and Glen Shee - are also open with many tows and lifts in operation, while the Nevis Range is now fully operational after a few weeks of partial closure due to annual maintenance work.
One exception to the snowy conditions is Glen Coe, which only has expert slopes available and no lifts running, due to a lack of snow in contrast with the rest of the country.
