Part of the Old Salt Route out of Rotherham will be traced on a guided walk run by Peak District National Park Authority later this month.
The event starts and ends at Langsett Barn car park in Langsett village on March 27th, meeting at 10:00 BST and ending at 16:30 BST.
Covering eight miles, it is an often steep walk and the authority has said it is one for experienced walkers, who have been advised good walking boots
are essential.Backpacking food
may be useful as a packed launch is also recommended, along with waterproof jackets
Those coming by public transport have been advised a bus service is available to a stop 100 yards from the car park.
Walkers taking part may note the occasion is the first day of British Summertime in 2011.
This means it is even more important to put the clocks forward, to avoid turning up an hour early.
