The Cheshire Matterhorn is the subject of a forthcoming guided walk in the Peak District.
While not quite as icy and treacherous as its Alpine equivalent, the hill does have a point shape - and some panoramic views, features walkers can enjoy on November 19th.
The trek starts at the Trentahorn Ranger Centre Car Park in the Macclesfield Forest, with the walk beginning at 10:30 BST and continuing until 15:30.
Walkers are instructed to make sure they have walking boots
and "appropriate clothing", as well as a drink and packed lunch.
Although Cheshire is largely flat, the Pennines overlap into its eastern areas and this combination offers wide-ranging views across the plain towards the urban sprawl of Greater Manchester and landmarks such as Jodrell Bank.
Park Moor and Mow Cop are other high moors where such views can be enjoyed, while the area north of Macclesfield also offers views across to the Kinder Plateau.
