Those keen to put on their skiwear
and head to the Nevis resort near Fort William will soon be able to enjoy using a new catering facility there.
Work has begun on building a bar and restaurant at the bottom station of the resort's Gondola cable car system, replacing the small coffee shop currently located there.
Managing director of the resort Marian Austin said: "The new restaurant has been in planning for several years now and it's taken us all that time to secure the funding, planning and leases."
The new development will not just benefit skiers, as the resort is used by those on mountain bikes
at other times of the year and also offers wearers of walking boots
access to the 4,000 ft Munros of Aonach Mor and Aonach Beag.
The resort already includes the Snowgoose Restaurant at the top station, 2,200 ft up the mountain, but one of the functions of the new facility will be to operate as an alternative venue for functions in bad weather.
At present, the Nevis resort is closed for more regular maintenance work, but will fully open for wintersports on December 18th and will offer partial facilities from the weekend of December 4th and 5th.
