The Nevis Range resort in the Scottish Highlands is opening today (December 2nd), three weeks earlier than anticipated, due to the high level of snow.
People donning their ski goggles
can now head for the slopes despite the centre currently undergoing maintenance, with the plan to? shut completely until a week before Christmas being scrapped.
Instead, there will be limited facilities available, including the Snowgoose restaurant, but no ski hire due to the building of a new eatery at the foot of the mountain, so it is just those with their own skiwear
who can take advantage of the early season snowfall.
Meanwhile, several tows and lifts are open at Cairn Gorm Mountain as conditions continue to offer plenty of runs there.
As well as the funicular railway, the Coire Cas T-bar and M1 Poma lifts were open from yesterday and both the Coire na Ciste T-Bar and Ptarmigan T-bar were expected to be operating as well.
