The Cairngorms National Park Authority has opened up a consultation period on its national park plan for the next five years.
People who like to go walking
, put on their ski boots, jump on mountain bikes
or enjoy the area in other ways may wish to add their comments to the draft plan for 2012-17, with the opportunity being available until December 9th.
The plan covers issues such as the environment, tourism and the needs of residents, with part of the authority's remit under the National Parks (Scotland) Act 2000 being: "To promote understanding and enjoyment (including enjoyment in the form of recreation) of the special qualities of the area by the public".
National park bosses are to receive the Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas today (September 21st) at the EUROPARC Conference in Germany, in recognition of their work in attracting visitors while protecting the environment.
It marks a renewal of the charter, which was previously given to the national park in 2005, two years after designation.
