Those who like to go walking
in the Highlands but find their enjoyment of the natural landscape is occasionally blighted by encountering litter may wish to join in a weekend work party to clean up Aonach Mor.
As home to the Nevis Range ski resort by winter and a world championship mountain bike
circuit by summer, the mountain has a lot of visitors and attracts plenty of things people ought to take home with them.
This Sunday (June 12th), a work party organised by Nevis Range and the Ski Club of Great Britain will set off at 10:00 BST to clean things up, with free tea and cakes promised to anyone who can bring a bag of litter off the mountain with them.
Some of the litter may have been hidden by snow during the winter, only to become visible as warmer weather arrives and melts most of it.
While many will enjoy mountain biking at the site, others can make the most of the long days with some grand mountain walks, as both Aonach Mor and neighbour Aonach Beag along the ridge are Munros of over 4,000 ft in height.
