An amorous couple needed to be rescued by Swaledale Mountain Rescue team after literally falling in love.
Unfortunately for the pair, in this case their passionate clinch led to them losing balance and falling over a wall above a business park in the Yorkshire Dales village of Hawes.
The pair plunged 12 ft and rescuers helped assist ambulance workers to take the injured lovers to hospital.
During the incident, the lady fell backwards first, a spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue stated.
He added: "The male is believed to have attempted to catch the female but the momentum of the fall has also pulled him over the top and down the embankment."
Those who love to go walking
in the area may be glad they can rely on the local mountain rescuers should anything go wrong, although they can reduce the chances of a mishap by wearing good walking boots
and - particularly at this time of year - warm clothing.
Men's and ladies' jackets may prove invaluable for couples exploring fells around Hawes, such as Lovely Seat and Great Shunner Fell.
