A stag party has been criticised by mountain rescuers for attempting the stunt of climbing Snowdon in Pyjamas, despite the weather being wet, windy and thundery.
The group attempted to climb the 3,560 ft peak in just their nightclothes and carried no equipment bar one water bottle, but ran into chairman of the Llanberis Mountain Rescue team John Grisdale, who advised them to turn back.
He said: "They had no spare clothes and equipment. If they hurt themselves that could have been life threatening."
Mr Grisdale said there is an "arrogance" about some people climbing the mountain that can put them in danger.
Those keen to make sure they are well equipped for climbing mountains should invest in waterproofs
, good walking boots
and walking trousers
that are either waterproof
or can dry quickly.
Good outdoor clothing
may be particularly important this summer, should it continue being unusually wet.
The Met Office has confirmed June was the wettest measured since records began in 1910.
