Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue has opened registration for its Oggie 8 mountain challenge, which is aimed at raising funds for the organisation.
The event, which will take place on August 7th, involves climbing eight mountain peaks over 3,000 ft surrounding the valley in a single day.
It will see those donning walking boots
- or running shoes
if ultra fit - and taking on four peaks of the Carneddau (Carnedd Llewellyn, Yr Elen, Carnedd Dafydd and Pen Yr Ole Wen) and four from the Glyderau (Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, Glyder Fach and Tryfan).
Organisers state that the event is not a race as such, although it does publish the finish times of those who complete the challenge.
There are 15 peaks in all in Snowdonia over 3,000 ft, with the other seven being Foel Fras, Garnedd Uchaf, Foel Grach, Elidir Fawr, Snowdon, Garnedd Ugain and Crib Goch.
Seeking to climb all of the 3,000 peaks is a popular mountain challenge.
