Those who enjoy getting on their mountain bikes and heading for the hills will have more reasons than ever to head to Keswick next month for the town's mountain festival.

BikeBiz.com said that the event will have more of a cycling theme than ever before, with the focus of two-wheeled activities being the Bike Village in Crow Park by the shores of Derwent Water between May 21st and 23rd.

The event will see demos and skill courses being run, with a number of bike suppliers exhibiting their wares and a chance for visitors to don their cycling gear and show off their techniques.

According to literature produced by the organisers, cyclists who are feeling a bit competitive can take on local challenges such as the Skiddaw Loop and the Borrowdale Bash during the event.

The festival as a whole also involves hiking, fell running and rock climbing and runs from May 19th to 23rd.
