A North Shore mountain biking club has expanded its trail in Staffordshire, three years after being founded.
Kidsgrove Freeriders Club spent Sunday (November 22nd) adding to the length of its circuit at Bathpool Park in the town, the Sentinel reports.
This form of the sport involves riding along raised trails made from bridges and logs.
The club has over 50 members and was established by schoolteacher Simon Davies after he experienced it during a six-month stay in Canada.
He stated: "When I tried North Shore mountain biking in Canada, I knew I had to keep going when I returned home. It's sort of like a skate park for mountain bikes
The existence of the club might encourage those living in the West Midlands to buy some cycling gear and have a go themselves, with the nearest Go Outdoors store to the Kidsgrove venue being in Wolverhampton.
In north Wales, a consultation recently began to allow the public to comment on plans to set up a new mountain bike
trail in the Ffestiniog area.
