Those who fancy getting a bit of inspiration for next year's expeditions in the mountains may find a fundraising evening featuring Chris Bonnington just the way to do it.
Everest climber Bonnington will be joined by adventurer Ben Fogle and the two will be interviewed by journalist Libby Purves at an event held at the Royal Geographical Society in London on March 31st to raise money for the Campaign for National Parks.
Sponsored by Berghaus, the evening will take place on March 31st and will see the adventurers explaining how early experiences in the British countryside formed their love of the outdoors that they subsequently took on this spirit with them around the world.
Such a talk could inspire people to buy some men's walking boots
or women's walking boots
to try the outdoors more for themselves.
Those who live south of London may note that they are not far from the South Downs, which officially becomes a national park on the same date, providing one possible location for some exploring.
