Last of the Summer Wine may no longer be on our screens, but there are still plenty of good walks to be enjoyed in the area where it was filmed.

The area between Holmforth and Langsett will be covered by a walk led by Peak District National Park rangers on August 26th, covering ten miles of challenging walks up steep paths and tracks.

Walking boots and waterproofs have been listed as being among the essentials for the trek, which starts in Langsett at 10:30 BST and ends in Holmfirth at 17:00, prior to a return journey by bus.

As well as revelling in the fine scenery and enjoying the exercise, the whole event may bring back lots of fond memories of Compo and Cleggy, Foggy and Nora Batty.

Last of the Summer Wine was first shown in 1973, written by Roy Clarke and featuring ongoing themes such as Compo's unlikely lust for Nora Batty in her hair curlers and wrinkled stockings.ADNFCR-2803-ID-801431018-ADNFCR
