Those keen to find something to do over the Easter Bank holiday or any other occasion can find a number of things to do involving rucksacks
and walking boots
around the Welsh town of Llanberis, it has been noted.
In a blog for Boosh News listing ten things to do in the town - which lies on the edge of Snowdonia - senior tourism services officer at Cyngor Gwynedd Council Steven Jones noted that visitors can avoid the easy way up of taking the mountain railway and walk instead, with a path following a similar route to the top.
He also noted that Padarn Country Park offers a chance for low-level walking, as well as the chance to get out the climbing harness
and take on some rock climbs.
Those who are keen to climb Snowdon may find walking the only way up, as the mountain railway closed for the winter in November and will not re-open until all the snow has gone, something the recent weather may delay.
