Those planning to put on their ski pants
and head for the Lake District may need a spade this weekend (December 17th- 18th)
In its latest email to wintersports fans the Lake District Ski Club has said: "Hi all you skiers/riders, we need your help on Saturday get there early to dig the tow out then we will be in for some fab skiing."
And the message included a picture of the slopes of Raise, where the conditions are ideal for skiing with plenty of snow about.
While skis may be the order of the day those on Raise, the latest Lake District Mountain weather service report from the nearby summit of Helvellyn has suggested crampons
may be useful for climbers.
It has said there will be a threat of "frequent snow showers" across the national park, particularly in the morning, although it is the more southerly and westerly fells likely to see the most precipitation.
