The Lake District is now open for skiing after the snows of recent days made it possible for people to hit the slopes.
An email from the Lake District Ski Club has said those arriving with their skiing equipment
should be able to enjoy using the tow and pistes on Raise, near Helvellyn.
Noting this was possible on November 10th, the communication stated: "Hopefully the recent overnight rain will not have removed it the forecast is for more cold weather after the weekend. Is this the start of another great season?"
The prospect of another cold winter could delight those living in England and hoping to don their ski boots
without having to head north to the Scottish Highlands.
In Scotland, the situation varies between resorts, with the Nevis range stating it is unlikely they will have enough snow for wintersports before it re-opens on December 18th after a month of maintenance, whereas Cairn Gorm expects to offer skiing this weekend.
