Those who want to spend some time in tents
during the summer will find the Lake District to be a great choice if they go there, a tourism official has claimed.
Spokesman for Cumbria Tourism Ellis Butcher said: "It is an incredibly enduring and popular destination for families in summer who love the feeling of being in the great outdoors and caravanning and camping
in a stunningly beautiful area."
Every year more people come to explore the area and join its army of "admirers", the expert said.
He noted there are many events to enjoy in the national park such as the Keswick Beer Festival
and the Great North Swim on Windermere in June, while activities include putting on some cycling clothing
and going mountain biking.
Those who wish to take up this latter tip from Mr Butcher may wish to find a campsite near Keswick, as the Whinlatter Forest to the west offers several mountain biking routes, as well as a Go Ape! circuit.
