Members of the public have been invited to don their walking trousers
and jackets and explore the corries of the North Face of Ben Nevis as part of an insight into the history of Britain's highest mountain.
Internationally-renowned climber Dave MacLeod has teamed up with the John Muir Trust to lead the guided walks as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend, which will involve a series of sporting and cultural events across the UK.
Discovering Places on Ben Nevis - North Face Notable Climbs will take place on Sunday July 24th and give walking enthusiasts a detailed history of the mountain and the people who have climbed it.
Rob Bushby, John Muir award manager, said: "Dave MacLeod is one of the foremost climbers in the world and has not only an intimate knowledge of the North Face but a great appreciation of the beauty and aesthetics of Ben Nevis."
Ben Nevis stands at 1,344m in height and is located at the western end of the Grampian Mountains.
